Integrating VEC Fleet with Geotab

Connect MyGeotab with VEC Fleet and use each vehicle’s odometer, engine hours and driver to manage your fleet.

// ABOUT THE INTEGRATION

VEC Fleet integrates directly with the API of Geotab, the telematics platform with more than 300,000 subscriptions in Latin America. The integration pulls from MyGeotab each vehicle's position, odometer, engine hours, speed and assigned driver, and brings them into daily operations in VEC Fleet.

It is live in fleets in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Brazil and Peru, in industries as different as beverages, agribusiness, mining, logistics and security. Geotab measures each vehicle; VEC Fleet turns that measurement into services, costs and decisions.

// PROCESS

How the Geotab integration works

The connection is direct with Geotab's API services: VEC Fleet authenticates with your MyGeotab database credentials and queries the position, odometer and engine hour records for each device. Each vehicle is matched against the active fleet, so there's no need to change devices or install anything new. Mileage and hours update on their own and feed the maintenance plans.

1

You keep using Geotab

No need to switch GPS providers. VEC Fleet connects to the Geotab account your fleet already has up and running.

2

Our Integrations team connects it

The connection is made with automated connectors. No action is required from the customer during the process.

3

Mileage reaches each vehicle

Once activated, data syncs continuously to give you full visibility in a single platform.

What the Geotab integration enables

What VEC Fleet adds to the data your MyGeotab database already generates.

01

Maintenance by kilometers or engine hours

Plans are triggered by the odometer or by the engine hours Geotab reports, whichever suits each vehicle type.

02

Assigned driver on every event

The driver reported by Geotab is linked to fuel transactions, traffic fines and vehicle usage within VEC Fleet.

03

One view for fleets across several countries

Vehicles from different countries, with one or several Geotab databases, are managed with the same metrics.

04

Fuel transactions validated against position

VEC Fleet cross-checks each fuel transaction against where the vehicle was according to Geotab, to detect inconsistencies.

05

Cost per vehicle based on actual usage

Actual kilometers and hours are the basis for calculating each vehicle's cost and comparing fleet fuel efficiency.

06

No hardware or process changes

It connects on top of your existing MyGeotab database; your team keeps using Geotab for monitoring.
